Nautical framing.
Nautical framing can include old coins, nails or shells. Most of these things can make exceptionally good works when framed properly.

Please make sure that they are as dry as possible when you bring them to your framer. Or you may find yourself being asked to bring the seahorse you found washed up on the beach, back in a couple of months when the smell has faded.

Please make sure your find has been sourced responsibly.

Placement.
Many things that come out of the sea are very fragile & therefore quite difficult to hold onto a vertical surface, such as the backing in a frame without damaging them or making them impossible to remove. In these cases, a horizontal shelf can be made for them to sit on, meaning they don’t have to be heavily secured. When using this technique, you should make sure you are able to transport the finished picture frame to its hanging destination in the upright position.
